On November 21, the 2023 Australia China Textile and Clothing Exhibition (Melbourne) opened in Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Center. Zhang Xinmin, Vice President of China Textile Import and Export Chamber of Commerce, Bian Changzheng, Commercial Counsellor of the Chinese Consulate General in Melbourne, and comrades from Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce, Jilin Provincial Department of Commerce, Xiamen Council for the Promotion of International Trade and other relevant organizations attended the opening tour.

This Melbourne exhibition is sponsored by the China Chamber of Commerce for Textile Imports and Exports, and co sponsored by the Department of Commerce of Jiangsu Province and the Xiamen Council for the Promotion of International Trade. The exhibition lasts for three days, with 495 booths. A total of 453 enterprises from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, Shandong, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, Jilin and other provinces and cities participated in the exhibition. It is the second largest exhibition of textile clothing in Australia since it was held more than 20 years ago. The exhibits include knitted and woven clothing, fabrics, home textiles, etc.

Australia China Textile and Clothing Exhibition is one of the most influential exhibitions in the industry, and has been welcomed by textile and clothing foreign trade enterprises for more than 20 years. The exhibition was originally held once a year. In order to meet the needs of enterprises, it has been held twice a year since this year, respectively in Sydney and Melbourne. In July this year, the Sydney Exhibition was successfully held.

China and Australia are each other's important economic and trade partners. The two countries signed a free trade agreement in 2015, and both are members of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP). Textile and clothing are important commodities for economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. According to Chinese statistics, China exports nearly 8 billion dollars of textile and clothing to Australia every year, and Australia is our eighth largest single market; According to Australian statistics, I am the first source of textile and clothing imports in Australia, accounting for nearly 60% of its imports. On November 4-7, the Australian Prime Minister visited China again after seven years. China Australia relations stabilized and economic and trade cooperation recovered, which brought good opportunities and broad prospects for enterprises of the two countries to strengthen practical cooperation.
