Toray Industries Co., Ltd. has developed a nylon 510 (N510) fiber, which contains 100% of the "bio based synthetic polymer component" according to the international standard ISO 16620-1:2015, section 3.1.5. Toray plans to start selling ecoear in autumn / winter 2023 ™ N510 textiles. The output will increase from the end of 2023 to 600000 meters by the end of 2023. Ecodear ™ The sales target of N510 fiber is autumn / winter 2024, and the monthly supply is expected to be 3 tons in the year to March 2024.

Nylon originated in the United States. In the early 1950s, Toray became the first Japanese company to produce nylon.
